Luigi Nicholas Mangione ( MAN-jee-OH-nee; born May 6, 1998) is an American former software engineer known for killing Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, in 2024. Born and raised in the U.S. state of Maryland, Mangione attended the University of Pennsylvania and became a software engineer.
