On April 26, 1987, Kerrick Majors, a 14-year-old African-American boy, was tortured and murdered by three white people during a racially motivated hate crime in East Nashville, Tennessee. Majors was attacked by the trio after he and his friends accidentally broke a $2 vase at a flea market.
