The Roman era in the area of modern Wales began in 48 AD, with a military invasion by the imperial governor of Roman Britain. Most of the native tribes were under Roman subjugation by 90 AD (however, a mosaic of the Empire in the Roman Forum still did not include the lands of the Ordovices).
