Monteros is the head town of the Monteros Department in Tucumán Province, Argentina. It is 58 km (36 mi) south-west of the provincial capital San Miguel de Tucumán, at an altitude of 532 m (1,745 ft), and is surrounded by four rivers. It had 23,771 inhabitants at the 2001 census [INDEC].
