The stab-in-the-back myth (German: Dolchstoßlegende, pronounced [ˈdɔlçʃtoːsleˌɡɛndə] , lit. 'dagger-stab legend') is an antisemitic and anti-communist conspiracy theory that was widely believed and promulgated in Germany after 1918.
